The Cloudy & Celestial Mirror

In order to find the great and powerful Legendary Weapons, you need a special item: the Celestial Mirror. However, to acquire the Celestial Mirror, you have to get the Cloudy Mirror first and transform that one into the Celestial Mirror. To do that, you need to follow a little sub-quest. Read further to find out how to acquire the Celestial Mirror eventually.

The Cloudy Mirror

To acquire the Cloudy Mirror, you must go to Remiem Temple in the Calm Lands. Talk to the Chocobo on the right- hand side to take on the spiraling track under the temple. If you win the race, you'll receive the Cloudy Mirror as a reward. Refer to the section of Remiem Temple for more information on the Chocobo race.

The Celestial Mirror

To acquire the Celestial Mirror, you must take the Cloudy Mirror to Macalania Woods and undertake a little sub-quest. Follow the following steps:

1. Go to Macalania Woods, South, which is near the Thunder Plains. Close to the Save Sphere, you'll see a mother and her son standing there. Talk to the mother and she will mention that her husband is supposed to meet her, but he hasn't shown in quite a while.

2. Now, head to Macalania Woods, Campsite. To get there, head right from here and cross the following screen. Don't go up, because that will lead to Bevelle Bridge. In the next screen, head up (north) to get to the Campsite. Talk to the man and tell them that his family is waiting over there.

3. Follow the man back to his wife and talk to them both a few times, until the wife mentions that her son is missing. Have you noticed the shining path close by the Save Sphere? It leads to Macalania Lake, a short cut through the Woods, but also there is an intersection about half-way. Earlier, somebody was blocking your path, but right now, the person is gone.

Talk to the boy at the intersection on the shiny path.

4. Head up the mysterious, shining path near the Save Sphere. At the intersection, head north until you see the boy standing in front of a large spherical crystal. The boy will mention that something is around, but he doesn't know what. You'll be asked to use your Cloudy Mirror, so do that.

Hold up the Cloudy Mirror and transform it.

5. Tidus grabs the Cloudy Mirror out of his pocket and holds it high into the air. The Mirror starts to shine and not much later, you'll get the message that you've obtained the Celestial Mirror. Basically, you changed the Cloudy Mirror into the Celestial Mirror! And your sub-quest was to get the person blocking the path at the intersection leave his spot, and of course reuniting the family.

You've obtained the Celestial Mirror!

Mom and dad will arrive and you've reunited the family, they thank you for your help and you have the most important item in obtaining the Legendary Weapons!
