Final Fantasy VIII
Right and wrong are not what separate us and our enemies. It's our different standpoints, our perspectives that separate us.
Both sides blame one another. There's no good or bad side. Just two sides holding different views.

Leviathan
 |
Leviathan is one of the GF's that you can obtain by drawing it from an enemy. Leviathan is also gained while fighting an important Boss
after the transformation of Balamb Garden on the lower level of Balamb. It is stated in-game that long-term Junctioning of Guardian Forces causes memory
loss to the user, because the GF draw power from the same section of the mind that stores memories, so using them is not without risks. Somehow, I really
like Leviathan, he is my second favorite after Shiva. I think he just looks beautiful and shiny. |
|
Leviathan does Water elemental damage to the enemies. You can't compare it to the normal Water spells, since they won't do much damage. This is by far the
strongest Water attack you'll find. So Leviathan is useful against Thunder elemental enemies or enemies who have Water as their weakness. |
|
Location
After Balamb Garden has transformed into the Mobile Balamb Garden to avoid the Missile attack on Disc 2, you'll be asked to pay a visit
to the lower level of Balamb. There, you'll meet the Garden Master of Balamb Garden, NORG, whom you'll have to battle. During the battle, after you got rid
of the shell, you can draw Leviathan from him.

Leviathan's Attack: Tsunami
Leviathan does Water elemental damage to the enemies. The Water spell isn't worth much, but that nothing compared to Leviathan's Tsunami.
Use it against Thunder elemental enemies or enemies who have a weakness for Water. Leviathan appears and starts creating a huge wall in front of the
enemies. He'll slide to the top and creates an 'S', then he transforms into a big wave of water, which falls down the huge wall and flows with great force
onto the enemies. If you did miss Leviathan here, there's a second opportunity to draw Leviathan. That is in Ultimecia's Castle, from the Boss Trauma
on disc 4.

Useful Abilities
Without a doubt, Leviathan's most useful ability is Recover, which enables you to completely restore a single character's HP without
using magic. It is listed as a main character ability and appears in the Battle Command Window. Leviathan cannot be Silenced, so you can use the Recover
ability at times when you wouldn't be able to use items or magic. The Spr Bonus ability is also useful if you can get it at an early level. It will give
the character an extremely strong defence against magical attacks later on. Personally, I don't like Auto-Potion too much, since it will cost you an item
every time the character who has Auto-Potion equipped gets attacked.

History
Leviathan (リヴァイアサン, Rivaiasan or リバイアサン
Ribaiasan) is a Summon that appears in most games in the series. It is a sea serpent, and its attack, Tidal Wave, also known as Tsunami,
deals Water-elemental damage to all opponents. Leviathan (Biblical Hebrew) לִוְיָתָן or
לווייתן Liwyāthān "coiled") is a violent sea creature that is referred to in the Hebrew
Bible as well as the Talmud and some other ancient Jewish texts. During the golden age of seafaring, the term Leviathan became synonymous with any large sea
creature, sometimes describing whales. Bible scholars interpreted Leviathan to be either a demonic sea creature and an enemy of God. The Talmud and other
ancient Jewish sources refer to Leviathan more specifically as a sea serpent, sometimes with multiple heads capable of breathing fire, that was made on the
fifth day of Creation. It is said that during the end times, God will make tents, or sukkah, out of the skin of Leviathan for the righteous to live in. Some
have speculated that Leviathan was based on a real animal, the most popular theory being the Nile Crocodile.
