Final Fantasy VIII
It's like killing two pigs with one stone.
Quote by: Laguna
Brothers
 |
This is an optional Guardian Force and without exploring everything and everywhere around the world, and the current locations you're
at, you might miss this powerful GF. This GF is actually two Guardian Forces, two Brothers who combine their strengths to create a devastating attack.
It is stated in-game that long-term Junctioning of Guardian Forces causes memory loss to the user, because the GF draw power from the same section of
the mind that stores memories, so using them is not without risks. The attack they use is called Brotherly Love and I think they really love each other.
Also, when fighting them in their home to gain them as a GF, they protect each other and get mad when the other is hurt. That's real brotherly love,
right? |
|
Brothers are actually an Earth elemental Guardian Force and they stand together in battle to aid you. They are especially useful against enemies
who have a weakness for Earth elemental damage. |
|
Location
During your mission to assassinate Sorceress Edea, you'll be in Deling City and after meeting up with General Caraway, you'll be
asked to prove your strength and collect a Student ID from a sword at the entrance of the Tomb of the Unknown King, which is located northwest of Deling
City at the end of a long peninsula. You won't see the Tomb from Deling City though. After getting your way through the confusing Tomb, you'll have to
face the Brothers twice. After defeating them, they'll join your party. Refer to the Side-Quests section for more info on obtaining Brothers. (***Coming

Brothers' Attack: Brotherly Love
Brothers attack is Earth elementary based, so the attack is useless against flying creatures since these won't touch the ground.
But the attacks proves very useful against other creatures, especially if they have a weakness for Earth elemental magic. They perform a small mini-game
to decide who will perform what, though it's always the same. They will use a big block of earth to jump high into the air and they will jump up to
break through it, causing it to fall on the ground.

Useful Abilities
The HP+ and HP Bonus are great abilities to have at any point in the game. The earlier you get the HP Bonus, the better of course,
since the character will gain 30 HP extra for every level he or she gained. Defend is an underrated ability that will enable you to avoid damage from any
attack, however, you'll probably want to pass it up for the other useful abilities. And Cover will take the place of another character to take the
damage instead.

History
The Brothers (Japanese ブラザーズ Burazāzu; French Taurus) are a pair of minotaurs named
Minotair and Sacred. After defeating them in the Tomb of the Unknown King, you'll also receive both their cards. The symbols on their shields means
"younger brother" (弟, Sacred) and "older brother" (兄, Minotaur). During dialogue sequences, Sacred speaks only in
capitals, while Minotaur speaks only in lower-case letters. The Brothers themselves appeared earlier in Final Fantasy V, named Minotaur and Sekhmet,
but they were Bosses, not summons.
