Final Fantasy IX
I'm Kupo for Kupo Nuts! Moogles During the course of the game and your exploring of the world of Final Fantay IX, you will come across many, many Moogles. Moogles モーグリ, Mōguri), are a recurring race in the Final Fantasy series. The name Moogle (or Moguri in Japanese, Spanish and Italian) is a portmanteau of the Japanese words for mole (mogura) and bat (komori). Moogls can be found almost all of the Final Fantasy series since Final Fantasy III. What are they? Small, cute and helpful creatures. They usually have white fur and red, Blue or pink wings. Another trademark of the Moogles are their colored "pom-poms", which stick out of their heads. Many of the Moogles you come across can speak the common language, but most of the Moogle race just know how to speak cries of "Kupo!" A funny thing is, that in Final Fantasy IX, every Moogle you'll meet has a different name, personality and history.
Moogles actually play a big role in Final Fantasy IX. If you come across a Moogle, you can save your game, which makes them Save Moogles. They also communicate with each other, through a service known as Mognet and you can help them to deliver their letters to the other Moogles. You will find a lot of Moogles living in the Summoner village of Madain Sari, which is also the place where Eiko lives. Some important Moogles in the game are Stiltzkin, a traveling Moogle who will sell merchandise to Zidane; Artemicion, the head of Mognet; and Mog, the female Moogle who hangs out with Eiko, never leaving her side. Moogles are also the subject of plays in the theatre district of Lindblum, namely the Moogle Wannabee play, starring the famous actor Lowell who dons a Moogle suit to escapes from his avid fans. Moogles really like to eat Kupo Nuts (named after the sound the Moogles make), which you can buy in a shop in Lindblum. However, you can also receive them as gifts for delivering letters across Gaia. You cannot carry more than one Nut at the same time, so you'd do best to give the Nuts to the Moogle who lives in Gizameluke's Grotte, in exchange for various gifts. Since Moogles are so important in Final Fantasy IX, they even have their very own quest. As I said before, they have their very own Mognet delivery service, meaning you will deliver letters from one to another. It is long-running and compex quest that reaps a good reward. To fully complete this quest, you must first find all of the Moogles! Refer to the following table to find out the location of evey Moogle in Final Fantasy IX and what you're supposed to do.
