Elements

In Final Fantasy are in total eight elements to come across: Fire, Ice, Thunder, Earth, Water, Wind, Holy and Shadow. By applying these elements to your attacks and defense makes a number of battles considerably easier. Take note that, your enemies can take advantage of them too! To make the elements useful, you must understand their properties.

Refer to the following table to find out the different properties for the eight elements in Final Fantasy IX.

Elements & Properties

Element	Properties
Fire	Effective against Ice & Undead enemies.
Ice	Effective against Insects, large enemies, Fire and Dragon type monsters.
Thunder	Effective against monsters near water.
Earth	Ineffective against Flying monsters.
Water	Effective against Fire monsters.
Wind	Effective against Flying monsters.
Holy	Effective against Shadow monsters.
Shadow	Effective against Holy monsters.

There is an also a "non elemental" property, which is neither effective nor ineffective against any types of monster.

Remember, making use of Elements and their properties is a great way to defeat the monsters of the world!
